Dear H&H Forum users.

I am hoping you might be able to help me out, I am currently doing some
research for a piece on working riders. We would love to have a chat with
some people about this, so can you think of anyone who ...

1) A working rider who uses their partner, parents, siblings to help make
things work for them. Maybe they have a friend who has a horse mad daughter who helps out? Or their husband stewards/pole picks/fence judges regularly?

2) A working rider who has had help from their employer to make things work.
Maybe they swap time for sponsorship? Do they help with giving them flexi
hours? Maybe they work shifts/part time to enable them to compete as well?

Any help would be gratefully received, please e-mail
ben.scott@freelance.ipcmedia.com

Thank you in advance,

Ben Scott

Hello ,
ive just read your request for information about working riders?

I have a horse that a compete every weekend, my non horsey partner (who has now become quite horse himself) poo picks, fixes fencing, puts courses up in the school for me to jump and helps with my schooling. He also comes to every show without fail.

In the winter, he helps me by turning out, bringing in, mucking out and sometimes lunging him.

I work 8:30-5:30 monday-friday and although i get up early to muck out , feed etc i truely couldnt do it without a little help from my partner. With him there it cuts the time in half and if im running late, he doesnt mind doing him without me.

Luke also works full time , i honestly dont no how he fits my life style into his... i couldnt wish for a more caring and helpful partner.

Were buying a foal next year which were both looking forward to , but again without luke, i wouldnt be able to do any of it.

If you would like any more information please let me no

thank you
