I would love to hear from people who are interested or are working with horses or dogs; yard or office???

Do you have any complaints or anything you would like to highlight?
Any advice?

Also, how many of you have used an equine recruitment company and what is your thoughts or experience and do you have any opinions/demands from an equine recruitment service?

PM me if you wish.

Thanks you

i work with horses, used to do dog clipping. dog clipping i grew to hate with a passion. horses i still do long hours, crap money but a lifestyle thing. fantastic 8 months of the year hard dirty wet slog the other 4!!!! if i needed to employ help i would advertise locally and on a trial basis! probably not a recruitment agency. sorry. and i would choose a yard experienced person as opposed to a college trained one. (bad experiences with college trained ones who know it on paper but cant see the jobs that need doing and time management!!!!) i would also prefer 2 part time than 1 full time, and an older responsible person with good work ethics, and not likely to get pregnant!!! yes i am cynical but employment laws are totally for the staff not the employer!!

I work with both dogs and horses- Dog Boarding Kennels and livery horses, all on one site.

I only 2 days a week, sometimes 2 and a half as I'm still in education, but the guy I work with just started full time there.

It's all very manual work, the only officey work we have to do is filling out a form when a dog comes to stay- e.g. writing customer contact details, dates in which dog is arriving/leaving and of course dealing with the payments when the dogs leave.

Not really sure what you want to know? Or if I'm even any help as I don't work full time/not working in the field you're thinking of..?
Let me know if you want to know anything specific

Any feedback or the industry and your job and also what you think of recruitment companies?

Why do you want to know? Are you thinking of starting a recruitment company or do you already run one?

I have worked with horses over the showing season. Long hours, little pay and physical exhaustion are the words i use to describe my summer.
I have done it to gain experience because every1 knows my Equine Sports Science degree will get me absolutely nowhere!

i've done both and at the mo, dogs hve won the day. in my twenties i worked with horses and loved it. long hours, hard physical work, no social life, lived middle of nowhere,. very little pay, but free beautiful cottage and all the food i could eat and playing with ponies all day, altho never had my own. i loved it at that stage in my life. in my thirties, now i run my own pet grooming business. fits in with school hours, part time work yet almost full time pay, can afford my own horse and have the time to enjoy him. despite that, i do miss being with horses all day long. but hey ho, we cant have it all! altho now i hve my own ned i do hve it all in my opinion.
