Could have gone either of two ways 🙃.

Luckily the JRT has decided to wear her sensible head and be calm as the chaos begins. The work to gut and completely refurb our upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room started today. Lots of hammering, drilling and clattering about, but she's fine. She's terrified of the noise of thunder and fireworks, so we did wonder how she'd cope.

Here she is just making sure that all is well again after a minor alarum with a punctured water pipe. Her crate is in the background of the pic, and she'll go in there if one of us is not around to keep an eye on her, but at least she won't have to be in it all day. She's not getting in the way at all, but we will still supervise her all the time.

Oh good. Always nice when the JRT had a sensible head on.

Rocky has a ‘I’ll just bark like mad’ head which he sometimes uses because he see’s ghosts! I’m sure if it. He’ll suddenly leap up and bark for no reason. Gotta love a JRT.

What a beauty :) . I love it when they "observe and supervise". My JRT is mad but suddenly surprises us by doing exactly this. They take their duties very seriously.

I am glad to see you also upcycle old horse rugs for dog duties. We have them over cages, on sofas and in one of their beds. Nothing animal related gets wasted in this household! She is gorgeous, I am seriously missing a JRT in my life. 😍
Well spotted, Mrs J. That's a repurposed 200g turnout covering the dog crate 🤣.

There is something addictive about JRTs, the little devils.

What a good girl. Can’t beat a JRT.

Pondering what to do with my wimp of a cat when I get my own bathroom done. Think the only option will be to send her to the local cat jail to board for the week.

That is a sensible thing to consider. The trouble is that tradesmen are often not great to sticking to booked schedules, so you book your cat/dog in and then they don't turn up when promised.

This work was originally due to commence at the end of Feb. He's great and a hard worker, but other jobs took longer than expected.

The other thing they’re not good at is shutting doors. Our decorators (don’t judge we have very high ceilings and an aversion to falling off ladders!) left the front door open and said Jrt is happily running round front garden which has no fence to the road. 😱🤬

Cutie! I’m wondering how our guys will handle next month when we have the kitchen smashed out and redone. They have met the fitter and he had dogs at home so that might make it easier!
