Workshy horses feet and confo, what do you think?

Flyermc - I'd also like to see pics of his hooves please! :)

Ester - hoping with being just left for 6 months, with some in hand walking I will do it nice and slow and avoid too much footiness. Although I might be kidding myself, if he's sound and happy sooner than that (post sprog popping) I prob won't be able stop myself getting back on :)
 
Norman had his fronts off today so we'll see how he goes over the next week or so. I've been hibiscrubbing and hydrogen peroxiding to clean them up, and just started to put some cornucrescine on too. Hoping I have a happy update in a few months time :)
 
Gah! I hate horses, more specifically, my horse! :( :(

The acupuncturists came out today, Norman has been improving in the field, some days fine, some days a bit footy/off. Today was a lame day :(

The acupuncture guy couldn't/wouldn't do anything with him still lame I front and has basically said to get my vet out to diagnose the lameness. There was no pulse to the foot, and no response to hoof testers, so it is perhaps the tendonitis has been aggravated by paddock turnout, or as he's only had the shoes off a week, could be a bit footy? but in the meantime (ie it's the weekend and IMHO this isn't emergency vet worthy as is still sound in walk in grass) would it be worth me buying him some hoof boots? If so, which would be best for turnout? Cavallo? Easy boots?

I'm off to have a cry, again :(

Do you have any pics of his feet now his shoes are off?

Boot's might help short term - I got Cavallo Simples purely for ease of use and I'm really happy with them. Feet improve massively with movement, can you walk him at all, even just inhand and with boots if needbe, to help build the feet up?
 
I can get some more pics this evening, he was only shod 3 weeks ago so there's not much hoof there for him iykwim? Need to ring round the saddlers and see what they stock I think.

Upside is his sheath oedema has gone down, although I can still feel it a bit, so whether that's because of the turnout or eating less good hay I don't know, but at least one part of him is less broken.

I can cry on command when it comes to vets and my horse! :redface3:
 
Some update pics

Front - have had shoes off now for a week and a half, I have been hibiscrubbing and either putting on cornucrescine or kevin bacon every day all round, with feet being picked out twice a day. He is getting very good at this, and picks up his feet before I get there which is very good of him :)

Near hind - I think the toe is now straighter and less bull nosed, but I'm sure those more experienced (which is most people!) will be able to see more

I am no expert but I took my Mare barefoot she was sound for a few days then went very lame l picked her feet out regularly, but did nothing else. I got her some front hoof boots only for when she was hacking out or walking on stones, I nerver put anything On the outside of her hooves. I managed to get her to grow almost a whole hoof from top to bottom in 9 Months. Unfortunately I lost her and didn't think to get hoof pics before the dreaded day. I loved having her barefoot and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
