Who is coming to France to watch?

We have been able to buy tickets already for the three day event and also plan to watch the HDT event at Haras du Pin, which is not too far for us.

Endurance near Mont St. Michel and SJ at Caen. I am told there is not a lot of accommodation in the Caen area.

We are excited that American friends are coming to stay. They have had this visit planned for months.

Me, me me!

Just booked it and am stupidly excited :D Im going for the eventing and will see the kur and para dressage finals :D

We live 40mins from Caen, all the venues hosting WEG competitions are venues we compete at ourselves so it's going to be great having all these top equestrian athletes around for a few weeks :) We are going to watch the eventing on XC day, some showjumping and carriage driving.

If anyone needs help finding accommodation in the area please feel free to PM me for suggestions!

We are looking to camp in or around Caen - where would be the best sites? We are looking for cheap!!
Everything is being done on a tight budget and there will probably be 4 of us. I am a bit perturbed that we can only buy passes for the eventing from one place but will see on 14th Nov when all general tickets go on sale.

I want to go to. . .i probably need to get on that, don't I! Anyone want to keep me for a week? Will ride bad/baby horses for room & board!

I'd tag on with TS but without the offer of riding naughty horses. I could be useful by videoing the ensuing rodeo for general entertainment though?

I want to go as well, really annoyingly I think the eventing will be on once term has already started :( Am going for cheap and cheerful, reckon we need a HHO camp site!

Rolling HOW have you got tickets They will not sell them to us yet. A French friend is coming with us do I get her to get them for us. How much are the eventing tickets? PM if you need to. We need to get tickets very soon as we need to know if we need to stop serving cows so nothing calves while we are away.

I will do. Two delightful American ladies,(from Washington DC) one of whom taught French. They came to France to see our Shagya's fell in love with our Clevelands and we have been friends ever since.

We are registered breeder with IFCE (previously National Stud) so I received an email to my on-line account. Just want to fly the Flag - when we moved to France in 2005 the CB was not recognised as a pedigree horse so could not compete in SJ, dressage or eventing ....we fixed that after 3 years of angst!!

Edited...If your friend is registered with IFCE she should be able to book on-line to 14th November.

Hoping to be volunteering there with a few pals. I'd like to go regardless of whether I'm working there but I haven't sorted any accommodation out yet..... I should probably get cracking :D

Caen is the problem, so I understand. Haras du Pin is further south I will look up some local towns for convenient accommodation. We are on border of Sarthe and Maine et Loire and that venue is about 1.5 hours.

Yea I am going with 2 others on the organised trip from the UK. All we have to do is get on the coach. Seems to be quite a bit of travelling to and from campsite to events, but really, really looking forward to it.

We have booked accomodation (a house) and bought tickets for eventing. Some of us from the UK and other Aussie friends joining us. Having been lucky enough to go to Kentucky and experience how good it was, just can't wait. We have also bought tickets via the 'with accomodation' agent here.
