My rottie, who will turn 9 tomorrow is at the Queen Mother Hospital with a PCV of 15%. They said the blood smear shows a small amount of regeneration and they have started a blood transfusion! I'm totally devastated. I took her to work just because she was very slow on her walk this morning, thought she just wasn't right. Didn't expect this. My house feels so empty and quiet. Praying she'll be ok. Miss her sooooo much. Xxxx

Sorry to hear this :(

Our old boy is 11 in Jan and he is slowly going. We will be heartbroken when he goes.

I hope your girl pulls through x

Im sorry to hear that, my rotti is 10 and I Will be to take away when something happens to her, i would be pacing the floors if I where you too.
(everything crossed for her)

She's stable this morning. Blood transfusion went well. They are repeating the bloods. CT scan this afternoon to find cause of anaemia. It is regenerative which is good news. Let's hope it's not secondary to anything nasty xx thanks for all your well wishes. I'm still in shock xxx

CT scan showed chest clear, changes to spleen which could be age related and one enlarged lymph node. The samples the lymph node and I should have results this afternoon. PCV was 22% since transfusion and they will repeat that today. We went to visit her last night which she was pleased about and ate a bowl of chicken. Just a waiting game at the moment. Thanks for your well wishes, will keep you posted xxz

Thinking of you .It is particularly hard for you as you are now on the other side of the fence with knowledge of the possible outcomes. It is easy to think the worst, but stay positive ,she is certainly in the best place.

Lucy was diagnosed today with Histocytic sarcoma following her splenectomy Monday which has caused her IMHA. We could go for chemo but prognosis is poor so we opted for steroids and will spoil her rotten until she tells us she had enough xxx devastated!

Oh no, so sorry to hear this, after following your thread I had hoped the outlook was better :(

I hope you have some lovely quality time with her x

So sorry about her diagnosis:( Often they do much better&stay with you much longer than is first thought,so hope you have a lot longer with her,to spoil her and enjoy each other. ((hugs))

So sorry - in a similar position with my rottie the same age with osteosarcoma, he's comfortable now post amputation but its just a case of enjoying him for as long as we can really, like you, we wouldn't put him through chemo. Will be thinking of you.
