Went for a riding lesson at a riding school today, first time in literally years since I usually have my own horse.
And to be fair I was expecting the worst, thin horses grotty school etc.
But wasn't at all was really good.
It was Bournevale Stables in Walsall.
Rode a lovely pony, not a slug. Never seen me ride before but adjusted the lesson to exactly what I wanted/needed. Learnt so much in half an hour not just your doing that wrong but explaining why etc and alot about the individual horses way of going and she said next time I went exactly which horse I would be on and what we would work on. Lovely facilities and horses and marvalous instructor definately going back.

That's really good that you've found somewhere. I've found a lovely place also, positive instructors and really feel like I've learnt stuff. It's hard going back to riding schools when you've had your own isn't it. Also worries me about how the horses are treated but again big thumbs up for the one I'm going to xx

I was a WP there years ago its just down the road from me, always was a lovely place with nice horses, glad you had a good lesson, was it Denise who taught you?

Yes was Denise. Exactly the same have complete complexes over how horses are treated at RS but there it was lovely. OH came to watch and he learnt to ride on my pony at home so never been to a RS and he just expects them all to be like that.... I wish.
Am going to recommend it to anyone who asks!

My moms friend goes there and loves it. Its only down the road from me, yet I've never been there. Was Magnum still there? (Skewbald mare about 14hh ish...mainly white with a brown head) I used to ride her before she went to the riding school and thought she was a cracking pony
