So my horse is apparently shy! He just hasn't pooped in front of me and as he is in the field with two other horses I cannot tell which poo is his :D

I managed to catch him in the act once but apparently you need at least two samples but my mum told me you have to get them within a week of each other or there's no point sending them away. Is that right?

Think I may have to get the night vision goggles, camoflague suit and camping gear out at this rate!

His would have been the warm dollop!

Put him in a clean stable - i'm sure he'll oblige in grand style :D

Ha ha! I'd get some strange looks from passers by checking poop temp! :D

This would be the perfect solution but we don't have stables  Any other ideas other than camping up there and taking shifts to spy on him? ;)

I can't imagine having this problem my boy is a poo machine ! He is the dirtiest horse I have ever come across.

Evidence every day suggests that ours are all poo machines too but I can never seem to catch him in the act! I'm sure there was mention on here once about horse nappies! ;):D

Does he poo when your riding? You could take the pot with you and jump off when he goes, you don't need two poos one is enough you just need to take a pinch from several different areas of the poo as the worm eggs might not be evenly distributed in it.

I wouldn't wait a week to send the samples off, as fresh as possible so the eggs don't deteriorate in storage/ transit.

I would stable him until he performs, or put him in a separate fenced area of field. being separated often makes them perform sooner rather than later too.

I was going to ask if you could fence him off from the others for a few hours, since you don't have stables. I've calculated my girls poop at least once every two hours, so you shouldn't have to separate them for too long really :)

I calculated 2 hours for mine too. Except when you are sat waiting, then they take 4! Sometimes if they sniff the barrow when I poo pick they feel inspired. One poo is plenty. Good luck!

Aha! Awesome thank you! My mum said you have to get two seperate poo samples
I think I can manage one, yes he does poo when we are out riding (usually just one) so i'll take my sample box with me :D Thank you so much! :D

My mum is sometimes a bit of a hit and miss for info, she said you had to get samples from two different poos and the samples had to be taken within a week of each other or it was pointless. Now I know what the score is I think we should be ok ha ha!

Cheers guys! :D
