can anyone advise if worm damage can be healed has anyone had any success stories ?
how was it treated?

the reason why i ask i have a youngster which looked well if not a tad underweight fec came back as 1600epg panacur equine guard 6 weeks later 500 then 6 weeks after that with moxidectin 0 count however colic symptoms are now occuring the horse had been going really well and is now off its work and it seems an ongoing saga, the ph of its muck is 5.5 seems quite acidic as i believe 6.5 is considered to be the min acceptable.

Was the moxidectin Equest or Pramox? If it was Equest (green) then you still need to give a tapewormer. If you gave Pramox you will have covered it.

I give one of my horses Coligone as she has had gassy colic in the past, and it's ideal for horses that are prone to these episodes. Available online from H Bradshaws.

Tapeworm has been treated the horse has gone from full work to incapable of schooling all veterinary checks done signs are pointing to worm damage• I'm wanting to know if there's anything that can help heal the damage done by the worms super supplements that will help build up broken down tissue any experience anyone• •••

have you done a worm count and blood test?? I think you need to do this.

As for damage it depends on which worms where the damage is.
Some damage if allot is permanent

My horse was rescued at 3 years at the point of death. He and another mare had been starved and I'm told, had such a bad worm burden that the vets thought they could not survive and recommended PTS.
However, they decided to give them a chance and they recovered fully. I got him about 6 months later and in the last 9 years, he has never had colic or showed any signs of lasting worm damage.
Worm counts have usually been clear or low and as far as I know,(last update was 5 yrs ago) the other mare recovered fully too, despite being in foal at the time. Her foal went on to be successfully shown at county level.
I can't tell you how the vets treated the worm burden at the time of rescue, but it was apparently very severe.

Thanks it has a worm count of zero now but I think there's lasting damage it is relcutant to school other than in walk but can manage a hack think I need to accept it won't go back to competing but could be a happy hacker
