Wormed him 2 weeks ago, can I de-worm again ?

I wormed my gelding 2 weeks ago as had a very wormy belly. I think he still has worms. Can I worm him again today ? How long should you wait in between worming ?

My vet (equine specialist) once told me that if I had good reason to suspect a continuing worm burden, three week intervals were more effective.

you could do a worm count to check if he still has worms, I send mine to westgate labs and get the results the next day.

im due to worm count mine again as i tapeworm test too (bloods) twice a year now....

yes you can. You can give over 10x the recommended dose of wormer with no side effects! We covered this in pharmacology

OP I would talk to your vet or worm count. Your local friendly SQP is likely to either refer you to the vet or advise you fill out an adverse reaction form (as the wormer has not worked the way it should) and reiterate the worming intervals (8-10 weeks for Equimax).

Yes I know about resistance I was thinking more about the horses health and didnt actually read the whole of the OP just answered the title question.

why do you think he still has worms? It would be unlikely if you gave the correct dose of equimax IMO as not a huge amount of resistance to the ingredients about.
