Collie owners should also be aware that lots of dog tick and flea treatments are also toxic to them. We lost two collies due to seizures within months of each other...the only similarity between both was that we had used spot on type products on them...

Definately seek proper vet advice before using such products!

So sorry for you OP , I have a friend who,s young collie got hold of a half used invermectin tube and nearly died, I have 2 collies and am mega careful when I do any worming.

You should be careful with any dog not just collies as other breeds are also prone.

Word of warning also do not let dogs eat faeces from horses that have recently been treated ,I have known sheep dogs dying after being in fields with sheep soon after worming.

I knew wormers were toxic to dogs but I didn't realise just how dangerous so thanks OP for highlighting this, I am so sorry for your loss.
