Wormers - buying online & passports???

Has anyone else been requested to scan a copy of the horses passport when buying wormers online?

I have just prodded a company to find out why they haven't delivered, and its because they want copies of passports

Frankly I cannot see what this proves and why they would need it?

I always buy my wormers online and have never been asked to show a passport. Very unusual.

Were you buying a large quantity of it? If so, maybe they thought you'd sell it on?

4 wormers for 4 horses, and I've never been asked this before and fail to see how it helps POM requirements!

Never been asked and I usually buy 10 at a time.
Imagine copying enough passports for a yard pack!
Stupid idea and makes you wonder what they're doing with the copies, why do they need them? Me, cynical, of course not!!

We tend to buy 30 or 40 at a time, we have 15 horses and buy them in conjunction with another stud for economies of scale. Have never been asked for passports, wouldn't fancy the faff of trying to scan all 15.

Been buying mine online for years and never been asked that. Seems rather odd.
