Hi

I wormed with equest last year and eraquell the year before, should I be going back to eraquell or using something like panucur or should I do regular worm counts and worm as and when? My horses are in seperate sections two are at one yard together and the other is in another yard in a section on her own I poo pick regularly. What does everyone else do, so many different worming methods I'm getting a bit confused!? Thanks

Both Equest and Eraquell use the same group of active ingredient - it is recommended to rotate the ingredient each year( unless you go down the route of worm counting, which I have no experience of yet).
For advice on worming including what wormer types the different brands are as well as worming calendar check worners-direct.co.uk
or check with your vet!

We worm count twice a year and strategically worm twice a year with Equest Pramox. That way we know all the encysted worms, bots and tapeworm are covered at the correct time.

It is perfectly acceptable to use equest/equitape/pramox continuously. I would highly recommend worm counting. For best advice, contact your own vet who will know of any problems with any wormers in your area.

Us too, no known resistance to Pramaox

I use equest in late December, worm count mid March - if count not low or clear, use equest. I then worm count mid September and if clear, worm in October with a wormer for tape, ie equitape or use a dual wormer such as equimax if required.

This works for my two - they are in their own field and it is regularly poo picked.

I was advised that as I normally only use equest once or twice a year, no need to change annually.
