Our worming schedule has been overlooked and I would like to get it back on track but would like some advice please, as I admit that my wormy knowledge is not what it should be! Our horses were last wormed with Equimax Tabs last spring. They live out all year and we try to poo pick once a week.
I know that the Equimax Tabs do not cover for red worm (which can be encysted) and that these also don't show in worm counts. I'm also aware that I have missed the best time for worming against these, as that probably would have been autumn/ early winter.
I thought about worming with Equest Pramox as that seems to wipe everything out but I've read some horror stories on here about horses with colic from this and some having serious adverse reactions. What do you think it would be best for me to do? Should I just worm with normal Equest to kill off any red worm or is it just totally the wrong time of year?
Any advice much appreciate as always.
