Can a horse's worm count result change when they move to a different location? I've had my pony worm counted regularly for the last 3 years and all been <50epg so he's had his tapeworm dose Spring and Autumn and a winter Equest for encysted redworms. We're somewhere else now and on a properly managed worming regime at last which is great (ie, last place didn't have one and fields weren't pooh picked only harrowed about once a year so I just got advice on how best to protect mine the best I could in those circumstances). My first worm count from new place shows he needs wormed for other worms which really surprised me as I thought I'd kept him as worm free as I could at the last place where he would have been more exposed I thought. Just curious really how the little blighter worms work! And I suppose at the back of my mind is the worrying thought that the worm counts I've had done for the previous years weren't a true picture?
