Hi there
Need some advice of what is the best wormer to use at this time of year for two mares who are at grass and sometimes out with sheep? Oh and also one of the mares has just been scanned in foal does that make any difference?
Thanks!!

i dont no about directions and stuff by i have used Equimax tabs, they are brilliant especially 4 difficult wormers, i ground them into a pony nut mash (cubes soaked in water until they expand) and the gobbled it all up, a quick check on their web page would probably have info you need but they are really good!

Equimax Tabs is the first equine wormer presented as a palatable apple flavoured tablet ensuring that worming your horse is an easy and pleasant experience.

The composition of Equimax Tabs is identical to Equimax Gel (ivermectin and praziquantel), and has a broad spectrum of activity against roundworms, all three species of tapeworms and bots.

Dosage: 1 tablet per 100kg of bodyweight: feed one tablet/100kg. Each tube contains 8 tablets. One tube will treat a horse up to 800kg or can be split between ponies. And once opened, unused product can be stored for up to 1 year.

The tablets contain apple extract giving a pleasant fragrance and taste to maximise palatability.

Directions for use: Equimax tabs can be fed combined with a small amount of the horse's usual feed or treats, in a bucket. Check that the full dose has been ingested when the horse has finished eating. Alternatively, if the horse is used to receiving treats, Equimax Tabs can be fed from the palm.

The tablets are round biconcave and have a similar thickness to a commercial treat.

Equimax Tabs is safe to use in

pregnant mares
lactating mares
foals from two weeks of age
stallions

i would personally go with equest and equitape but if you dont want to worm just get them tested to see if they need doing first poo sample and bloods for tape worm!
