I feel a bit silly posting this, as it seems like an obvious question... but How oftern should you worm your horse?

I have a 16.2HH warmblood he is stabled in the day and out in pasture at night, he shares the field with a little pony, and also a stallion who gets his turn out during the day when my horse and the pony are in.

The field is rich in grass, because the field is so big, about 2-3 times a week a small army of us from the yard take wheel barrows and shovels and remove the droppings.

I was taught that you wormed every 6-8 weeks and alternate the type of wormer each time. But Ive been reading on the net and there are mixed views on the subject, some say just worm 4 times a year, others say every 8 weeks!

My thoughts were, as the droppings not being picked up everday, (Due the size of the pasture, the field is massive!) and the fact that my horse shares the field with others, I was thinking its best to stick to what I have been taught and worm every 6-8 weeks.

I just wondered what you guys do?I am just confused help!

4 times a year winter use equest spring use equest paromox for tape worm contol plus all the routine worms summer use equest autum use equest paromox for control of tape woms you can use this for three years with out changing coz there is no resistence to this product after the three years change to a different chemical!

Completely depends on which wormers you use, some are as little as six weeks, some as long as 13 weeks.
