Hi,
We bought a horse a week ago, the day before the purchase he was wormed, he's been moved to a temporary yard, until a stable in the yard we wanted him at has been freed! The Y/O requests us to worm him with Equest Pramox, can it be given to a horse that has already been wormed? or do I have to wait until when his next worming is due?
From what I've read of Equest Pramox, it sounds really good, and fends of most of the nasties!
Thanks in advance.

There is a search box at the top of this page click on it ,next page type in where it says key words Pramox wormer you will find 4 pages of threads. A lot of horses are fine with this wormer ,but some have had colic so that put me off using it . I would not want to worm a horse that was wormed a week ago, can you ask a vet for advice if your yard owner insists that you worm .

This is a situation where a worm count is very useful. If your horse was wormed very recently then the last thing you want to do is give Equest Pramox. A good worm count result would show that the horse was not shedding worm eggs onto the pasture and was therefore not a danger to any of the others. Is the YO not open to reason?

I have now moved yards, she said thats fine but make sure to worm him with it for next time!
Thanks for your help! :)
