Need help...... saw some worms in my horses poo - indetified as pinworm and treated however yesterday saw some different ones - white in colour different sizes with a round black head - none were moving like ones before..any ideas??? help!
 
Ok....don't panic it's only worms! :cool:

First thing's first have you had your horse on a worming programme?
Worm him and keep him in for now...

Go and poo pick your field if you haven't already...getting as much as you can off...even better switch to another field which is clear?

Get a bit of his droppings and put them in a clear container - you can buy them at ASDA for 50p and put the poo in there and take it to the vets - ask them to do a worm count
They will come back with which little ones your horse has and then you can worm accordingly...

Or if you want to cheat you could just ring your vet and explain the situation and ask for a five day wormer - you just add it to their feed each day!

Did you see the horses actually 'passing' the droppings with them in? They *could* be tiny maggots, laid by little flies, who seem to get to the poo before it gets to the ground!!!
