Got down to the yard this afternoon and noticed that Kenny had left pretty much half of his morning haynet (they get these at 8 in the morning) which is nothing like him at all! normally he has hoovered up every last strand and will practically dive on any he has missed if it gets unearthed when i muck out. The reason im worried mostly is because this is how he was the morning before he colicked the other week :( YO was keeping an eye on him all morning just in case and i know he'll have an eye kept on him this evening. maybe im just being overly cautious after our lucky escape.

fingers crossed he just wasnt hungry today :(

Did he eat his hard feed today? Is he being turned out at all? If he's eating all his hard feed I wouldn't worry so much, but if he isn't eating or drinking anything either then you should probably call the vet for their opinion, especially after he colicked last week.

My horse is off his hay a bit at the moment as well, but fine in all other ways; this is new hay though so I'm switching back to the older hay tomorrow. I think the spring grass is starting to come through so that could be affecting him as well.

he ate all his hard feed this evening so not too worried and he had drank a normal amount too. he is stabled but will get turned out in sand turnout (more like mud though at the moment) for atleast an hour every day and is exercised every day. i know its not ideal but turnout is not an option at the moment but he seems happy with his routine and it shouldnt be too long before they can go out again.

thank you for all the replies am feeling much happier now about it all :)
