So im 13 and recently have experienced a BIG growth spurt. Like really big and ive grown so much. I’m nearly seven stone but I’m skinny and tall. My pony is 14.2 and a welsh section d but I’m paranoid I’m outgrowing her. Is my weight alright for her? What height do you think is maximum for riding her? ☹️

I doubt your pony even knows you are there! Seven stone is nothing, especially for a native. Have a look at some local shows and see what sort of people are riding ponies like yours, I think you’ll be surprised.

I'm 9 stone and frequently rode my daughter's 13.2 Section C. He had absolutely no trouble carrying me all day including jumping. You will be fine on yours for years.

Bless you, at 7 stone you are as light as a feather, your pony will have no issues carrying you. If it's any consolation, I shot up at aged 12/13yrs and went to 5ft 9, towering over everyone else in my class and then I never grew another inch taller after that. I think it is brilliant that you are being responsible enough to think of your pony but she will be more than capable of carrying you, I wouldn't worry and have fun.

My 14.2 Welshie used to be competed by a 6 foot guy! Different horses can carry different weights and I think, as long as your pony isn’t struggling, you should be okay!

Height depends on how comfortable and balance you feel. As for weight, you have a fair few stone to go before you even need to think about worrying even if you have a sporty lightweight D.

I rode my show pony type until I went to uni at 18. I grew out of her pretty quick when I started loaning her but didn't have a choice in my teens of anything else to ride. I am 5'7 with long legs. Can't remember what I weighed back in the day but definitely more than 7 stone!
