Worst dressage tests ever??????

Thanks so much!

It's not often that I get such nice comments on my riding........or any nice comments on my riding so you've made my day!

My worse would be where the judge stopped me half way through while she moved her car back about 20ft (can't say I blamed her either - I'd probably have done the same thing!). Can't remember mark but it wasn't pretty!

Only ever had 1 test that broke the 60% marker (Tilly's first attempt at W&T at that too!) as all my PC days were spent on a slightly mental horse that thought dressage tests should only be done in canter with his ears up my nose, doing tempi changes even on a 20m circle and would rear if I asked him to stand! Incidently he was fine on the XC course or in the SJ ring, little sod!

And to cheer Pidgeon up...

I never managed to achieve more than 55% on my previous horse. He used to spook at his own shadow, let alone anything "really" scary.

Our worst test was 40% doing a P14 (I think). Anyway, I had a comment of 'unhinged' .... sadly, I thought he was actually doing quite well under the circumstances.
We struck off correctly in canter but when we came back round to the viewing gallery, a man and a dog had appeared. That was enough to 'unhinge' him.

I did get -6 because I went wrong twice, even though a friend was reading for me. She was so amazed at his behaviour and my stickability that she was too busy watching to read

I've posted this before but I think it might cheer you all up. Her stable name was Potty (well that's what we called her) and it was at the RC Champs a couple of years ago, riding and style or whatever it's called, and the score is erased from my memory for some reason. Rosie, judges and all us spectators were crying with laughter by the time she finished.

well, i've got two, one was Katy at Burgie N this spring, when she just went utterly ridiculously electric and i couldn't do anything with her...it's on youtube if anyone really wants to see it. she looks like a stiff-legged hysterical giraffe.
the other was probably at the highest level on this thread, even though the %age wasn't quite as bad... in Germany (of course, just had to be, didn't it!), at a 3* CCI, my mare just utterly boiled due to the atmosphere and did the whole test with her head stuck in the air, refusing to soften, engage, or allow me to ride her. I think we got about 45%... and i smiled the whole way through, because only I knew that it could easily have been worse, at least she didn't jump out of the arena! after that, things could only get better...

I got 29% on my horse in a ODE- he decided he was scared of grass, markers, any rein contact and most definitely the camera man (who he had to pose for, looking like a mad alpaca). I cantered most of it, and thought the judge was ridiculously generous with that many marks!

Most embarassing though was my first ever PC dressage tets, on my lovely little Connie, Joey. He was a proper pony, all cheekiness and generosity, but I couldn't get him to canter, it toom most of my energy to maintain a bimbling trot, and in the free walk he stopped, did a massive wee and then proceeded to eat grass! I couldn't get his head up- eventually, the writer came and rescued me...!!

Loads on my pony she just didnt do dressage - i dread to think the marks we got. 6 years later - this summer (as a 13 year old rather than 4/5/6 when i rode her before) i took her to an intro we scored 57% - very generous and the judge asked what an earth we were doing there!!!

My first ever test was in the 40s. To be fair I was on an ex-racehorse who didn't know what 'slow' meant and was rather proud of her giraffe impression :P My first event with her the dressage ended much the same we got about 62 and were last...oh so very last lol

Dressage -On a day when my ex-racer notoriously managed to do two prelims and come away with a 67% and a 39%, the comments were "What a lovely German pony, well ridden" and "Oh dear, seems to be re-enacting his racing days" .... just shows that they don't always look and act like a TB but when they do, they really do!

Many years ago pony club event, trying a rubber snaffle we went XC in a double usually - cantered across the diagnal and he galloped off with me jumped the very nice rope around the dressage arena and headed towards the XC start a high speed.

Hmm,
Probably when I went to Pony Club Camp this summer, and we were doing a one day event. We'd just done the showjumping and my horse was really hyped-up. I don't know my percentage, but I do know that I got a 2 for my canter.
Not one of my greatest moments..

I've had a few horrible scores. One particular show is my huge downfall every year. I now avoid it. Its an agricultural show, and in the showing my horse went ballistic (as he did sometimes) spinning and galloping and kicking everything and we got disqualified. He then went into dressage and did 5 flying changes on one circle, bucked like a bronc down the long side. Our comments were 'no flying changes required' 'well sat' 'lovely horse, needs more practice'. Haha, the cows and the noise and atmosphere just sent him completely over the top.

Next year I went to same show with new horse, only finished racing 6 months ago. Took him to the showing in hand and he spent the whole time on his back legs striking out. Finally got him through the ridden classes (one was very dodgy, nearly got me off a few times, the second we got 3rd and would've placed higher save for a little mishap when we chnaged legs).
His dressage actually went ok..i think it was a 58%, much better than expected considering his mood.

The pony however at the same show....only did dressage. He doesn't load well so that already had him stressed..then he warmed up fine in the sand. Turns out the test is on grass, which he's never experienced before. Also turn out he HATES it.
We did our whole test at super speed because the grass surface panicked him. It was over in like a minute, and I think 'very rushed' 'broke pace' 'needs to slow down' were written as well as the judge going 'is this pony a SJer?' 'No, actually he's a dressage pony' 'And this is a pony for your sister who is 11? I suggest she doesn't ride him'

K was competing in a local championship when the horse in the next arena bucked it rider off and proceeded to gallop, madly bucking around the arena. As it shot through K's arena K stopped and waited until the horse was caught, she then set back of on what was by now a rather tense little horse. When the results came up she was given an error of test for stopping, no coments on the whole sheet but just a comment on the bottom something along the lines of "no halt required and a little tense today" No reference what so ever to the bronco loose in his arena - oh and the final score - 40%.....
