Worst names (horses)!

At my yard we have a Dave! I used to look after a horse called Gloria and another one that was just named 'the colt' which would be fine if he wasn't a 20 yr old gelding! Apparently they never got round to naming him when he was younger and a colt!!

One little mare I used to ride was called Miss T Hills, but we called her Hilary.
 
I've known....

a mare called Wilbur
a fat pony mare called Petal
a black pony called Blackie
a brown pony called Brownie
And the token Misty or 3!!

My Shetlands' real name is B'den Achilles - yuk! Was going to shorten it to 'Killer' but thought that might be inappropriate!!!

My Arab's real name was 'Marron' - he was chestnut though, not brown!!

And I once owned an appaloosa called Pippin or something similar - only had him for 8 weeks! It was a long time ago and an unhappy memory!

And I've also got/had:

Rosie, Lily, Spruce and Fern - very flora and fauna !!!
 
Years ago, my friend who worked for a dealer, had a horse called Richard...he was an appaloosa...ie Spotted Dick. I kid you not!

My horse's all have odd names! I have a Colin (his posh name is Smallburns Daydream) poor lad, he is at a proper disadvantage from the start with that name!!!!! A Who's class, which is annoying when we are eventing, and are generally found wallowing in a ditch somewhere. And Orange Pippin (she is chestnut atleast!) From work I have come across:

oh and friends have a lovley driving mare that came with 2 stupid names, on her passport she is templedruid souvinion and her stablename was Cooie as she is only 13.2 you get it called out as COOOOOIEEEE!! YUK!

why do people name horses stupid names?

That's funny, we have a Hari as well - a MARE as well! Her proper name is Kiwi Harapa but when we bought her they called her Hari (why not Kiwi, I don't know?) However, I am a believer in not changing names so it's stuck (farrier and vet are always calling her a 'he' though!)

My hari came from poland and i am a believer in not changing name too. Yeah i know what you mean farrier and vet calling her a he. When i first got her 5 months ago i must admit it took me a wile to call her a good girl instead of a boy as it was all geldings i have had LOL.

A lady in our village bred Arabs and when her mare produced a filly when she was wanting a colt she called it Wie Schada which she said is hebrew for what a pity ,poor horse .
 
I can beat Norman.... I too have a 17hh stunning hanovarian called..... SEAN!!!

His posh name is Warusz so where on earth did Sean come from? :eek:
 
My share pony before I bought George is called Nosey Parker, (Nosey to his friends lol). George's name from racing is Sentinelese! Too much of a mouthfull so Gorgeous George it is!
