I was wondering if it was worth continuing to insure my horse ....
He has had the following injuries - proximal suspensory desmitis, splint fracture, torn sesamoid ligament and now has been diagnosed with navicular.
My insurance company has been absolutely brilliant throughout and paid out £1000 's in vets fees on him but understandably he now has the following exclusions : hocks/front feet/splint bone/sesamoid ligaments
In addition to this I got my renewal letter through today and he has had an additional 50% added to his premium (can't say I blame them!)
So I was wondering if it was worth paying the high premiums?
TBH at this stage if he had anything else serious happen that was going to need operating on I would realistically need to think seriously about PTS as with the navicular his long term prognosis isn't great anyway. Any small things and I am in a position to be able to cover the vets fee's.
So do you reckon it is worth just getting 3rd party liability via the BHS and stop insuring the horse?
Surely we can't have any more bad luck? (... on second thoughts please don't answer that!)
