Hi,

Im just looking for some feedback as to whether or not anyone would be interested in doing Arctic Dog Sledding as an adventure holiday?

I did this for charity last year and am now hooked.
Dog sledding is not something i would have ever considered before partly because i never knew you could.
It doesn't have to be for charity so could be a holiday of a lifetime. Also the chance to see polar bears and do ice diving.

If anyone would be interested then please let me know as i would like to spread the word to others about this fab trip that anyone can do.

have always wanted to do it-used to work huskies along time ago but never on snow! its would be pretty expensive though-out of my budget unfortunately

Approx £1200 for the trip incl accomodation, flights, dogs, equipment and food. Thats based on a 7 days trip plus two for transfers.
Cheaper if you do a shorter trek, say 4/5 days.
Absolutely love the dogs, going back to do it all again in April next year!

Did anyone see a documentary about a trip the the antartic with sled dogs recently? A chap stopped us whilst walking our dogs on holiday and was telling us about it. I am not sure if it was a documentary on someones journey to the antartic as he said that if a female dog came in season whilst on the journey they shot it and fed it to the other dogs - I am sure this doesn't happen nowadays so it must have been someones journey? (hope that makes sense)!

There was a programme on TV last night comparing Amundsen's and Scott's bids for the pole. I would tentatively be interested in a dog sledding trip, would need more details of what's included etc. But maybe, because I've always wanted to do it.

we have a pack of huskies nd a sled but we have never had enough snow to use the sled so we end up using the rig (sled with wheels) would love to take our pack out there tho!

if anyone is intrested we do have people come and visit our huskies so if anyone would like to come and spend a dy with our huskies you can pm me and arrange a date,

Your dogs look fantastic, if I was nearer I would come and see you like a shot. But if I'm ever in Oxfordshire I'd love to give you a shout and come over.
