Would I be a bad person for doing this to a border terrier?

My border really stinks, and definitely needs a hair cut when the weather is a bit better

However she is not fond of being stripped (the teeth come out!) and doesn't even like a shedding tool. Therefore I was thinking about taking the clippers to her

Is this a heinous crime if the dog is a KC border?

Bath? I don't see a problem with clipping her. You could buy her a nice coat if it gets chilly and join in the 'dog humiliation' posts

Not at all! As an old in both senses of the word, Border Terrier breeder, I started doing it myself when I did my wrist in although you'll have to be ready for the coat never being the same again and you'll probably have to clip 3 or 4 times at least a year to keep it neat.
TBH, I've never known a Border be bad to strip if it is done at the right time when the coat is ready. Do it before it's ready and it will be akin to plucking your bodily hair off and hurt! You shouldn't do them until the hair is dead and floppy then it will almost fall out, the only places needing a trim are tummy area and toes which are tender areas. I used to do mine when they were relaxed in front of the fire asleep, or in the garden in the sun or on my knee and take plenty of time, they would never bother and none of our owners had any trouble either doing it that way so if yours is a bit nippy, I feel she might have been made uncomfortable by having it pulled before it's ready and it's upset her for the future.
Looks like clip and bath is the way to go for her from now!

Well this is the thing, the hair on my mother's border (on the right), seems to be much easier to strip, my girl seems to have a fluffy coat and it never reaches a stage where it falls out easily

She is now 2 years old, and has not been stripped properly

She tends to look like this all year round (she's the one on the left):

My Border Terrier has been castrated and consequently has got one hell one of a coat thats not suitable for stripping! In the summer, he gets clipped off completely and resembles a Staffie. He's a sturdy boy
