Good lord no! You would in no way be to heavy for that horse! I'm sure someone on this forum will disagree but horse's are far tougher than us bunny huggers in the UK like to think.
I suppose if you plan on doing grade A SJing or PSG dressage it might casue a little extra strain on the joint but as a riding club horse it would be no problem at all.
The guy at our yard weighs 15 stone (very muscley!) and rides a 14.1hh Arab, he's ridden Arabs all his life and laughs at us Brits (he's Italian) who think only skinny ladies and children should sit on such delicate little animals.

I am nearly 12 stone and my mare is a 14.3 tb! I reckon that as long as you aren't a complete sack of spuds riding wise and/or going round badminton you will be absolutely fine.

No way, I had a 16hh Irish sorts horse and i am 14st, never bothered at all, you'll be fine....enjoy!!!

I would happily let someone of your weight on my 15hh cob (see my sig). You will certainly not be too heavy for a 15.2hh mw.
Good on you for finding out though, one of my pet hates is seeing overweight (not saying you're overweight though!) people who are under-horsed.

LOL, I would not call 12 stone "overweight". I think people these days have some warped sense of what is truly overweight thanks to the media and the paranoia mongering government saying that we're all "obese" unless we eat what Jamie Oliver cooks.
I weigh a bit more than you and Hattie is a bit taller than your ned (a 15.3 TB) and she carries me just fine!

I am 12.5 stone (hadn't weighed myself for about 2 yrs, so it came as quite a shock!) and my girl is 14.3.
My OH told me I'm too heavy for her, so I asked the back lady when she last came (maintenance only - we don't have back issues!) and she laughed at me and said my OH obviously doesn't realise what a strong horse she is (Sec D).
