I have had a moan in the past about other people on yard, well I have seen a nice yard advertised not far from me, reasonable price , school etc... would it be rude to put a sign up advertising it in the hope they might move - I think I know the answers you will give but I am very tempted !!!!!!

Is the current yard yours? If not, why don't YOU move?

Ditto, I was thinking the same, instead of suggesting they move to it (which I think would be rude and weird quite frankly) why don't you just go to the other yard.
I haven't seen your other thread though.

Yes it would be rude.

I don't know what your issues are with your liveries but if its your yard I would've expected a straight forward conversation with them about what they are doing wrong.
If this hasn't solved the issue & there really are problems then give them their notice.

There's no need to be passive aggressive about it all.

Maybe have a chat with them and say (for whatever reason) you would prefer it if they look for other accommodation for their horses and you've found some alternatives?
As much as I didn't like YM, she did suggest some yards and things which may help before we had our big falling out.

In a yard with only two other liveries yes it would be rude (sadly!)

I think if the problem is still as bad as it was you will have no option but to hit this head on with a proper conversation

Be brave :)

Ok I also did think it would be a bit rude....

It's the little things that are annoying, not cleaning up after themselves, rubbish left on the yard not being able to turn the electric fencing on & reconnecting fencing over gates , I got there yesterday morning & someone had been up after me & hadn't locked one of the gates - surely all of the above are common sense ? I am just left feeling I am moaning all the time - yes I do think we need to have a chat to try & clear the air. They are nice people but just keep saying they forget- perhaps it is just me !!

I wonder if you could do some sort of livery cup or league if it's big enough yard, ie as voted for by them, most helpful/tidy (contributing) livery prize, I don't know, maybe a bit too simple or condescending but offer a weeks free livery or bag of feed or something and I'd certainly go for it!
Or you play hardball, introduce charges/fines or kick them off!

I think this post is a bit tongue in cheek??

Have a chat with them, explain the issues, and if it doesn't improve the culprits will be asked to leave, Your yard, your rules, just don't turn in to a nit picky YO, No one likes one of those...

Notice board maybe?

Been there, bit my tongue until it bled until one day I was pushed too far and gave the lot notice! I think if you have liveries you do have to overlook the minor stuff but I'd be taking things like not turning on the fence and locking the gates fairly seriously - formal written warning seriously. If they take the huff and leave then...result!

If you have a general notice board in the yard then why not? I do think that if they are causing you pain then hand them their notice - maybe give them a warning first though?

As Zero00000 said - I think this post is a bit tongue in cheek?? - yes it was

It is only a small yard & there are some basic rules written down but it looks like I will have to redo '& have a chat with them I like your idea Arizahn :)
We are all adults & know what needs to be done - like I said earlier I just feel like I am moaning all the time I have lost count of the amount of times I have asked for rubbish to be put in bin & cups to not left on yard - when I turned up today there were plastic bags lying around & empty cups that have been there for 2 days & it just did my head in x

I would give all a note with their next billing saying that their livery will be going up due to the extra work you need to do. If they are a nuisance you might as well get money out of them, ore perhaps they will leave.

this^^^^^^
Tell them that if they don't do all the necessary jobs you will have to employ someone to do it for them and it will cost £XX.XXper week. At least make it more expensive than the place down the road.;)

Completely sympathise with this. I'm embarrassed by the mess fellow liveries leave behind. Not only is it their horse's home, but leaving mess around is so rude as they expect the YO to run a tidy and safe yard.
I genuinely don't understand how nice people can be so slobby.

Why not just speak to the person/s tell them what the issues are and discuss it, clear the air and then put the sign up with yard rules to be followed.
If you cant/wont do that, then ask them to leave, its your home and by the sound of it you'll be happier, they'll probably be happy to leave as well if they find out theyre being discussed on a forum
