my daughter for one that appreciates everything I do for her :-(

The lovely weather is here now, perfect for riding and playing with the horses. As my daughter works full time and I only work part time ( allthough 3 jobs and running a house is not really that ) all through the winter I do her horse for her as well as mine. I will also lunge and ride him and be there to hold him for farrier and dentist etc.

I have just purchased a nice big trailer so we can go off and do stuff but now that the better weather is here she is off doing other stuff. My horse had a KS operation last year and is only just back in light work. Iam taking things slowly with her but I am still able to hack out, albeit walking.

I am going to suggest that she gets a sharer for her horse as we will never sell him ( I love him too much lol) and maybe that will spur her into doing more or take up my suggestion. My horse is my passion and in the summer I get to appreciate what we struggle through the crappy winters for.

I know my daughter is young ( 21) and she has lots of other things she likes to do, but maybe she shouldn;t have a horse at the moment?

Thanks for listening to my winge!

Swap for me!! I have 3 part time jobs, similar age to your daughter and would kill for a mother (or anyone) to help me out a bit! I seem to be the one helping everyone else out.... :p

Does she do any housework or cooking? If so I am prepared to swap for 14.2hh 'sensitive' chestnut mare or T reg vauxhall combo van. What d'ya think?

Another application for a swap! I work stupid insane hours at the moment (e.g. most days I leave the house at 5.30am to go out to Monty, go to work directly from yard at 7.30am, finish job 1 around 3/4pm attend job 2 from 4/5pm onwards after hour drive between jobs, and return to house at 9pm-ish 5 days a week, Saturdays work 10am-6pm whilst other liveries at yard are out riding and then Sundays I have to write all my classes/lectures for the coming week) so that I can afford to take it easy over the summer and get proper time to work with Monty, and still be able to pay the rent/bills etc. I worked pretty much full time whilst completing my BA and MA to pay my way through uni and save for horse.

My sister, two years younger than me, still sponges off the parents... I should've learned more from her :D

I'm considering moving home in September as I'm starting a PhD in Belfast, and it doesn't seem financially sensible to get my own place when the folks are 40mins away from the city. Plus I want to keep Monty near them as there's hacking and beaches galore. But if I think I'll get my mother to even wash a saddlecloth let alone give me a penny towards him, I'm delusional... she is horsey but from a very early age it was established that if it's my horse, I do everything for it. From the age of 16, it was if it's my horse, I pay for everything for it. Which I appreciate now as I know how to manage my money (and work ******ing hard to earn it)... though I would LOVE if she'd buy me a trailer!

EDIT: I do housework and LOVE cooking, if that helps persuade you at all :D
