Why I keep horses and Oh yes, work with them as well!!!

I don't need to tell any of you how horrible this winter has been with the relentless cold, snow and now bl@@dy rain! My horses seem to be constantly covered in mud and I look like Winnie The Witch with my ruddy complexion and windswept hair. My fields have turned into a squishy mess and if I manage to get my horses clean, the mud turns to dust and still ends up on me!

Is the sun ever going to shine warm and bright, the grass ever going to be green again and the horses be able to romp naked in their paddocks? Give me some hope somebody pleeeeeeease lol

I've seen catkins, daffodils, skipping lambs and my horse's coat is falling out in drifts.
This morning I saw a rook gathering up nesting material.

Spring is just around the corner!

Here!! here!! I am sick of all this weather .I have got soaked 4 times today doing horses and walking dogs not that I would be without any of them but it would just be nice to have a clean kitchen floor and a dry coat .My hands look like a naveys!!!! I must try to remeember why I agreed to take a 6 month old springer for 10 days while a friends on holiday in the sun!!!to add to my 2 dogs and why are their feet like sponges?
I looked in my diary and last year I had rolled the fields and turned the horses out 24/7 by the middle of March that seems very unlikely at the moment
Still I love them all and the good times in the summer make all this a distant memory

I'm getting red veins on my face and my hands resemble brillo pads!! Taffy is constantly wet, filthy or both and the dog ditto! My house looks like a bomb has hit it from said dog's muddy paws and shedding fur and I seem to live in my wellies.

I work in an office and sit in the coldest part of the building where the heating is forever conking out so I live in big thick fleeces of varying degrees of smelliness depending on whether the dog has shed his fur on it or the horse has used it as a snot rag!

Having said that, I did see a clump of snowdrops the other day and we are going away for three weeks in March to SA which will be hot! But of course, once we're there, I'll spend the whole time worrying about the dog and the horse and ringing home every five minutes to see how they are...

Had a couple of lovely sunny days last week. The ground was beginning to dry up, got out on the horses and it was really feeling like spring. This week couldnt be more different. It was drizzle all day yesterday and today its heavy rain/sleet/snow. The fields are covered in puddles, the horses rugs are soaked and im miserable. Im beginning to wonder if summer will ever come.

Winnie the Witch, LOL

here is a fast hand rescue! it really does work so dont mock before you try it! apply a liberal blob of hair removing cream onto dry hands, rub in well and leave on for about 2 to 3 mins. keep rubbing at the grubby bits that are in grained! rinse off well and then soap and scrub hands with a nail brush! rinse and dry, then apply some hand cream.

We have snow AGAIN today. Have had 6 inches of the white stuff today. I even asked my 3 year old daughter today if she likes the snow (thinking all children liked snow) and she replied NO!!!! I just want the sun back i have forgotten what it is like to wear only a tshirt.

Good Lord, where are you?

Never mind, the sun will come out soon enough and then the snow will be a distant memory

We live north of aberdeen. People say "you have lots of snow because you live in Scotland" ok i accept i live in scotland and to expect snow but we have had snow on the ground for 8 weeks now my horses are sick of the sight of it i even think they are sick of eating hay and i never thought that would happen!!!!
