In the past couple of weeks there have been a herd of what look to be pregnant mares, foals and youngster cobs turned out onto a very large area of very lush grass that i haven't seen grazed on for years near me. Anyone near the wigan area may have seen these. Am a tad worried as the majority already look very well, they just scream lami at me every time i go past. Would you report this? Would anything actually be done, advice or otherwise? Tis a tough one.

Lami has mixed reviews, recent studies have even shown that it is an imbalance in the horse and not even lush grass related all though I wonder about this as you do see it attack when the grass is rich and horses are well rounded haha. Keep an eye out but guess you can't report till one is suffering

Personally no. I'd much rather have preggers/foal at foot mares out on lovely grass, likewise for foals and youngstock also. Much better than complimenting with hard feed. If I could do it with all the ones at home, I would! Currently they're out 24/7 on about 30 acres or so, and still having to put additional round bales in with them.

The young ones were doing a good job of churning it up with rough play when i drove past today anyway so less worried now, there will be no grass left if they carry on!
