So just been to the yard to give madam her feed and rug her up for the night, Another lady at the yard informed me that she saw a car stop at the field where Missy is and this lady with "mad ginger hair" .... (according to lady at the yard :) ) stopped and got out of her car and started taking photos of Missy and yard owners horse Lily .... Now Missy being missy, came ove and the lady continued to take photos and according to other livery she started feeding her "something" and carried on taking photos and then shhhuuing her back to take more photos .

Would this bother you ?


I have to say I am a tad concerned .... Field is on a very busy main road out of town, Yard owner lives across the main road along with the yard, She can see the field from her sunroom but she does work nights .... although I am pretty sure her two adult sons is always at the house .

So as I said ..... would this bother you ?

I am aware that the lady in question could more than likely be genuine and just taking photos of horses ..... I think what is getting to me is curiosty more than anything :o :)

I wouldn't like random people feeding my horses treats. My horses do get treats - but only when they have done something to deserve them - and not just at any old time. I like to keep it that way too!

You could try putting a sign up saying not to feed the horse - but TBH - if the lady with crazy hair is going to feed her, she will feed her whether or not a sign is there.

Flo ..... Its also the weird photography session she was doing with my horse ..... Like I said its more curiosty as to why she is taking photos of my horse :confused: .

But I am gathering from lack of replies its nothing really to worry about :o
 
She probably just thought she was pretty and took some pics. If she gave her a polo or a bit of grass from the verge it probably won't do her any harm.
If you are upset you could put a sign up saying 'no photography and no polos'.
 
i would be a bit peeved, one of my pet hates is people feeding horses what ever they like.

I'd also feel worried as to why they were taking so many pictures of my horse. one or 2 wouldn't bother me, but taking loads from different angles etc seems very odd to me..... but i am quite a suspicious person!

hope it was just a one off x
 
I would be very annoyed at someone feeding my animals, but the taking photos wouldn't bother me.
 
Just spotted this at top of list..dont want to worry you too much but I would be very worried. There were a spate of horse thefts where people were seen taking photos of horses in fields before they were stolen, probably to order after prospective buyers saw the photos. Apparently a small plait was braided into the mane of the ones that were stolen too....I am always very suspcious of any strange people or vehicle wandering about near the horses or yard...better to be safe than sorry..
 
Yes, it is a bit weird and also I would not be keen on someone feeding my horses. Having said that, being a horse lover and walking my dog in lots of places in the country I come across other horses all the time and being a bit sad, I always want to go and have a look, stroke, bit of grass whatever.. Whilst I can appreciate it can be annoying sometimes the moment takes you.. lol
