I'm tempted, read tempis posts with interest, but can't afford £60+ at the mo these seem great plus theres 2, so 1 on the bridle one on the headcollar bargain, has anyone ordered from this shop before?
That website would not go to checkout, so have ordered them from Barnstormers instead, have shopped with Barnstormers before with no problem. Worked out £21.95 with postage - wonder if it will get here for my dressage test Wednesday!
I've looked into the armadillo magnets for Osc to wear in his stable on his hind legs before I ride and I think i'm right in saying they shouldn't be worn for longer than 30 mins at a time?? Or maybe that is just to start with.
Also make sure you find out if they are suitable to be used for exercise, I know some of the products I looked into said strictly not for use during exercise.
this is from the Armadillo website:

Didn't work as well as barnsby on my lad (I tried to go the cheapy route first) also have seen someone asked to remove this at BD as is too visible - not sure how rules stand there.

Will have to get saving for barnsby one! I'm only doing unafilliated dressage, and if she behaves as she normally does she will have her head stuck up so high the judge won't even see her poll
I would think with the colouring they could fall foul of the bit that says about decoration on the bridle.
A friend of mine has just made her own with a black neoprene guard for a noseband, and some medical magnets off ebay, she put the magnets inside the guard and put it on the headpiece. It does not show as anything flashy and the magnets only cost about £2.00 I laughed, but it appeared to be effective!
Right anyone who is local to me (nr Buckingham) & can be bothered to pick it up, I will lend my bridle for 1 month foc. If it does not work for you, then you have lost nothing. And yes it is dressage legal.

Now I wish I was near you, as I would like to trial this, being sceptical and all. Actually, I'd like a totally blind trial where I knew you were giving me a bridle, and it might have magnets in, but I didn't know whether it was that or a control.
That would be an idea. I also have the elevator & they went better in that so all the bridles were changed over to the padded versions. Just one mare in particular was very difficult & the other was a pain when hacked out on her own. I think some problems are poll related which is why they help. Feeding is not the problem or nerves on the part of the rider. I think it would be a good project for some one doing studies into horse behaviour. Horse calmers never really worked for mine, but I know for others they are a god send. The amount of money that they cost, if the bridles or headpieces work then the cost is irrelavant.
I do wonder if it is a base of ears problem - add padded magnet headpiece to elevator bridle and suddenly there is nothing to dig into the base of the ears at all as it is all much higher up, higher even than a normal elevator - just pondering. Something with a shaped headpiece is on my wish list long before magnets, and I never found my comfort bridle made any difference!

I have a Stubben padded 'thingi' to go over my headpiece and a comfort bridle, they don't seem to make any difference, but will give the magnets a go as I am conviced they helped in healing my broken leg. I was walking on it just short of 4 wks after having it pinned back together, and the rate of bone healing was amazing - considering I am well on the wrong side of 30!
