Well mannered, 16.2 coloured cob - super in all circumstances to ride and handle, loves jumping (more than me), novice dressage, teaching learner to ride, 10 years old, attractive but dishes - BUT has permenant low grade sinusitus, has had one operation, possibly will need to have another in the future. (BTW - this is not an invitation, I love him to bits but I just wonder if it would be possible to give him away

Well you would probably be well advised to check with an insurance company, just in case he has to have lots of future operations for his condition? You can insure for vet bills as you probably know.

I wouldn't worry about a horses peculiar gait unless it was bad enough to keep on creating lameness.

He's youngish too, so why not look into his ailments and weigh up whether or not he's going to cost you elsewhere ?

Good luck !

Sorry - should have mentioned - excluded from any dental/sinus related probs on insurance. - I do own him - I've just had a long chat with the vet and it occured to me that I probably had a valuless horse - hence wondering if I could give him away - I won't be of course

And sorry about my spelling on the poll - its mad and I can't change it!!!

I think yes, there is the potential for further expense, but this horse ticks most peoples boxes in so many respects that the future surgery isn't such an issue.
If the horse was sound you might pay in the region of £4000, and that is the way I would look at it, up to £4000 worth of treatment it is no greater a loss than buying a sound horse, if the costs are going to be significantly higher that it might be a different decision

In theory, yes - the sinusitis isnt a big problem really. Fortunately though, I'm not a huge coloured cob fan (i like to stay undercover with a "blending in" bay !), so no danger of me coming to pinch him from you. I bet lots of people would snap your arm off if offered him though, he sounds like a really nice sort.
