would you all tell me a little about yorself please?

I am 30 yrs old, I moved from South Wales to Norway 6 years ago. I live on island a mile off the Norwegian coast on our 66 acre farm with my husband and two boys. We have a Dutch Sports Horse Oliver (Grey in sig), Welsh A Rosie and two dogs, Jake a Border Collie and Lotti a Dalmatian puppy. We also have a stable cat Moet.

We own a tack shop with a retail outlet and a big presence online and I give private lessons to local children on their own ponies from time to time. I am on the committee board of our local riding club and enjoy being involved within the horse community here.

I have a disability and complicated health issues which can frustrate me with riding sometimes (earlier I showjumped in childhood) and I am trying to be brave and start competing in Dressage.

Hi everyone I havn't introduced myself either although I have been using this useful forum for a few months now!!

I live in South Lincs. I'm 34 and own one horse. He is a 17.1 han x tb chestnut gelding. He was a showjumper but have been reschooling for dressage, or has he been reschooling me??!! He lives about 60secs from my back door which makes life a lot easier! I also have a jrt x (x with what i have no idea!!) but she thinks she is human!! Also have 2 ferral cats that live on the yard. Well they were ferral but now are the lovliest cats ever!! Nice to meet everyone!!

I'm Annette, I'm 21 and live in Shropshire. I'm horseless atm having given up loaning in my second year at uni for lots of reasons. Am desperate to get back into it and buy my own but I'm temping atm looking for a permanent job and to re-locate so not the best time. I have a Corgi called Jack and two cats.

HEy HO!
I'm Victoria, I'm 19 (though I keep telling people by accident that I'm still 18...) I'm studying Neuroscience and Psychology (Don't ask!) at Keele Uni. When I'm not at uni I work as a waitress/barmaid and I also do a Playscheme for kids with sever disabilities (so fun...all I do is spend my days swimming and playing in the ball pool :P) to pay for this addictive habit.
I have ridden on and off (when I could afford it) since I was ten and on my gap year I brought Frenchie as a 'project' and kind of forgot about the selling part! :P We've done a couple of hunter trials and one unaff. SJ. I hope to get her out more this summer if I can earn some more money, but given the my livery has just waked my rates up maybe not!

I think im 1 of the newbies and never introduced myself so thought id join in here.

My name is James (of course) im 22 next month and have to admit i dont own a horse and never have done, im a agricultural contractor specializing in hedge cutting and pasture/paddock maintance, also do tractor hire work and relief driving or holiday cover.
My girlfreind has a few horses and runs her own yard with her mum, also is a quailified instructor, shes teaching me to ride so not been riding long.
I joined as have exstensive knowledge in paddock maintance, hay/haylage and straw and thought id try and pass on some info when and where i can to try and help.

I'm Izzy, I'm 14, I'm in Year 10, and I have 5 ponies
smile.gif

1. Millie, 13.2hh, Welshie, 17yo, ex-event pony mare, competed to PN, then sustained an injury
frown.gif

2. Tam, 15.3hh, Welsh x TB, 8yo, Eventer mare, who competed at PN this season, and i hope to go novice next season!
3. Andy, 15hh, Connemara, 6yo, gangly gelding who is finally learning how to move all four feet at once!
4. Percy, 13.1hh, Show Pone, 12yo, my old pony who I ujsed to do BYRDs etc with
smile.gif

5. Miracle, 12.2hh, Show pone, 4yo, I was given her by this man, and she is currently pregnant with a baby!! I may break her, but if the baby is nice, we might keep her as a broodmare.

My family breed Cleveland Bays, we currently have 3, and my Mum is the secretary of my PC. I live on the Oxon/Berks border, and eventing is my passion!!!!!

I think I've introduced myself many times but hey ho, there are bound to be plenty of people around who don't know me.

I'm Charmaine, I'm 18 (bet you hadn't figured that one out
smirk.gif
) and at the moment I'm studying from home for my A Levels whilst also working part time as a groom at a riding school/livery yard. I loan Scooby, a 14.2hh traditional cob, from the riding school and it's sooo exciting, as I've never had my own horse before so I'm learning loads and having so much fun! I started riding when I was 6, stopped when I was 13 and only picked it up again in May of this year, so I've been more or less starting from scratch again. I had a total loss of confidence, but Scooby has turned that around and now I am really excited to start entering little SJ classes in the spring.

I live in South Lincs with my mum, dad and sister, and I've got a little lurcher called Leah who I absolutely adore and have had for nine years, as well as two hens, some tropical fish and my sister's Jack Russel Poppy who is a nasty little toerag but also irresistably adorable. I ought to be going to uni next Sept to do English and Creative Writing, but I'm debating whether or not to just take a full time working pupil position at the riding school instead. I am a very wordy person who likes to write posts that could be published in (very dull) novel form.

Hi, I live in Flintshre North Wales, Have an 11 year old son who is horse mad, as I was when I was 11.
I bought him Penny a 15 h chestnut mare TB and keep her at livery close to home. He is only a novice been riding 5 years, but Ive been with horses since I was 7 and I am doing NVQ 1 at the moment in horsecare. Penny may be a TB but she is so good with Gareth, she is 16.
Think this forum is fantastic as are the people on here too.

I’m an oldie on here but anyway:

My name is Jo, I’m 29 and I have two horses, a cob called Bodey and a Fjord called Badger (who really is my Mum’s but I look after him and ride him).
I live in Kent and keep the horses at my parent’s house, which is also where I work.

I do a bit of everything with Bodey, from HTs, to dressage, to SJ-ing but Badger is just really a plod pony.

I have 2 dogs, a Black Lab called Arnie and a JRT called Baxster. And two cats called Biscuit and Bessie.

I'm 22 years old (I look 10 years younger!), and live in North Yorkshire. I have been riding since I was 13, and have worked full time with horses since leaving school at 18. I am currently a freelance instructor, Plus I take horses in for schooling, and I am looking for more horses to ride and compete. My parents farm (where I live) has 8 stables, 6 acres, and an arena. I have 5 horses:
Pippa - a 17yo TBxID who I got when I was 16, she was my pony club/riding club horse, and I evented her up PN level. My mother now rides her, but I sometimes steal her for odd hunter trials etc!!!
Millie - a 11yo TB. I bought her from the meat man 5 years ago. I have evented her upto CCI* and she has 5 BE points. She has injured her back so is currently in foal, but I am hoping to event her again in 2011.
Murphy - 13 yo ISH. I've had him for 2 years, he came from a pro eventer, he has 35 BE points. We were doing BE intermediate, but he had a injury, so has not evented since June. He is back in work now getting ready for 2010 season.
Colin - 4yo Scottish Sports Horse. I've had him a year, he was feral when I got him, had never had a headcollar on!!! I broke him in in March. He is entered for his first Dressage test on Tuesday, so fingers crossed he won't buck me off!!! Hopefully he will event next season.
Jem - 8yo TB. I got her in March, she had never jumped. She started BE in July and has won 2 BE90's, and had many other placings. My mum has started riding her, and is going to do dressage with her over the winter.
I also have a Donkey called Samuel, 6 chickens, and 5 dogs, a colie called Zeb, a mongrel called ruby, a whippet X called Ted, a Jack Russel called Poppy, and a lurcher called Rang (my dad named him.......!!!)

I'm Georgie, I'm nearly 22 and I live in Wiltshire
smile.gif

I have one horse named Miss Ellie, who is 14 now, and I have owned her since she was 5
smile.gif
We used to show jump and had a fab time BSJAing for a few years before we took a nasty fall, after which I lost my nerve
frown.gif
I gave up jumping after that, so we only hack now!

We have two ponies out on permanent retirement loan. One is Shandy, my lovely little Newfie, and the other is Caddy, my mum's old pony who she bought from Stow fair without her parents' knowledge when she was 14! He'll be 32 this year, but is still going strong
smile.gif

We have two black Labs, India and China, one cat called Schumi, two bunnies called Monte and Carlo, lots of fish and five guinea pigs. I have been with my lovely OH - who is excellent at building stables and other timber buildings
wink.gif
- for five years, and I am currently training to be an English teacher!

laugh.gif

I'm Sacha, 37 and live in South Lincolnshire.

I breed sporthorses - coloureds and Trakehners, so currently we have 13 horses here, but one leaves next weekend, and I have 2 that are out on loan. I also take the off horse in for backing and schooling when I have space and I am not in hospital (taken nearly 2 years to rebuild me after a mare kicked me in the face)
I am lucky to keep my horses at work where I am stud manager to a showing breeder and judge and back and produce her horses for the show ring.

I also have one lovely jack russel called Snowy who comes everywhere with me.

I'm Ellie, I'm 18 and I live in East Yorkshire. I share a 14.2 hh piebald cob called ...Ellie! I have ridden for 7 years now but I have loved horses since I was old enough to say "horse".

I have just applied to university to study international law and as owning a horse doesn't appear in my gran plan for about another...6 years or so I am still sharing and will have to give up that when I go to uni *gulp*

Hellooo ...

I live in n.ireland up along the sperrin mountains, I have a bay filly who is rising 4 and standing near enough 16.2hh , She is an Irish sports horse and hoping to do some Showing, working hunter, showjumping dressage .... whatever tickles our fancy really

.

Welcome newbies to the forum x

I'm in the minority with James in that I dont have a horse or pony

I do however have three acres and a stable block burning a hole in my pocket so am on the lookout for a small pony to live wth my small flock of sheep

I used to do a lot of M&M showing/Working Hunter/XC etc.. as a child/teen and have a lot of experience in producing show ponies. I lost my last horse - a beautiful Welsh D when I was 18, he was the most wonderful horse

I breed and show chickens (a lot cheaper than showing ponies lol) and live in Northamptonshire with my husband, terrier and cats (and all those chickens!)

Hello all, ive never introduced my self either i like this post
laugh.gif

laugh.gif

ohh and i have a very smelly JRT called spikey!

This is amusing... I have been here for nearly five years and I still haven't ever properly introduced myself
shocked.gif
grin.gif

I'm Rachel (aka "Sil"), I'm 22 and I live in sunny old Wiltshire (south). I've been riding since I was seven, and my first horsey memory is from when I was about five or six, and my mum's friend's horse trod on my foot
blush.gif
I have loved horses ever since (mad!) I helped at riding schools from when I was about 14, and always wanted to be an instructor... when I got to about 16 I discovered I couldn't teach for toffee
grin.gif
I do have a BSc (Hons) Equine Studies though (which I would not really recommend to anyone
smirk.gif
) and I have worked as a groom for a long time... I started with work experience at age 14 for a local yard, went back to the same yard for a summer at age 16/17, then the next summer, then the summer after that I started working part-time around the last two years of my degree before starting full-time in June last year. It's actually my last week there next week - on 7th December I start work as an administrator for a big pensions company and I'm studying part-time to become an accountant so I can afford my own horse again one day!
I have owned two horses, although my horsey story really starts with Fleur, a New Forest pony who threw me in at the deep end of horse ownership when I started loaning her after she was broken as a five year old. My first own pony was Lily, a 14.1hh Welsh Cob nutcase chestnut mare I had for four years, until she finally broke my confidence. I rode many friends' horses for a year, and then I got Maiden, a grey 15.3hh ID x (supposedly with a TB... which is laughable
grin.gif
) total saint of a horse. I had her for eight months before she tore her tendon and was written off everything but light hacking - so I gave her to my mum who adores her
laugh.gif

So I am now horseless! Though I hope regular lessons and begging rides off friends will keep me ticking over for a while
smile.gif

I don't jump - I am a huge wuss after Lily wrecked my confidence, but luckily I think dressage is brilliant and one of my ambitions in life is to competently ride a GP test (even if not in competition).
I am obsessed with Iberian horses, especially PREs, and my next horse will be at least part-bred PRE or Lusitano
smile.gif

I live with my parents (though have plans to move in with the boyfriend in the next year or so) and they have two cats, a dog (JRT) and five chickens.

I live in Shropshire - I have 1 18month New Forest and 1 18month Appy x Blagdon cob. I had a serious riding accident in 2008 which docs told me not to ride for 3 years to allow me time to heal so I bought the youngsters who will be ready to break when I am back into riding- I still ride though (naughty I know) as I judge at RC level and teach dressage in the local area (but only ride the well behaved ones due to the risk). I have been riding for 21 years now - although don't do dressage- by day i'm a secondary school teacher!

This feels like some kind of therapy meeting.
I'm Beccy, I have a small livery yard near Rye in East Sussex. I have a young friesian gelding who I have had since a baby, and a showjumper warmblood mare (for loan/share).
I live with my OH on the yard with our crazy poodle cross border terrier Heffner and lots of outdoor cats, a few sheep, a rabbit and some ducks!
I'm just starting to get my friesian fit and ready for summer, it will be his first time at everything, he is still very green and very novice. He takes up most my time so warmblood mare is looking for someone to ride and compete her as I run the yard myself and have very little free time.
Nice to meet you

I have had my 16 year old bay Sammi for 13 years and he is a hunter type and is abit of an allrounder, do abit of this and that on him. I bought my coloured yearling Rox in January 2009 as an unhandled colt, his mum was a french ex racer, and his dad was a traditional mw coloured cob. He should make around 16.1hh. So far done abit of inhand showing with him, he looks quite a promising type for the future!

I have two staffies, Crash is black and is 11years old, Smoke 'the white one' is 5 years old and he is a thief!!!!! Steals everything and anything!! So ye be warned if you pop round for a special lol!
wink.gif

Currently been laid up with a mashed up ankle since July 11th, hoping to be walking in 2 months! Friends youngster reared over backwards and landed on me! For good measure, as she was getting up, had another sit down on my foot. I sat up and my foot was facing the wrong way...
