if a person that came to try your horse for loan/view to buy suddenley started on another post that she "was getting" said horse!

am fuming for 3 reasons
1)i havnt said yes to her
2) shes using my picture on her signature
3) shes asking about plaiting.. some one told her to pull the mane, id possible kill anyone that pulled his already sparce mane. (he is also a lipizzaner)

i have call ther persons mum, but am now doubting if id want my horse to go the family and am very cross!!

yes she is a teenager but having just spoken to her mum, her mum was aware she had been and posted about her "new horse" im now very concerned, as they still have another trial next week, and im still to see mum ride and the yard where hes kept, mums attitude astounded me, i thought she may of apolgised
 
Sounds like she is just excited to me? If she is young enough that you need to ring her mum about it she is perhaps young enough to be getting carried away?

Not sure her posting enquiring about plaiting is reason to discount them as potential loaners completely?

All sounds harmless enough to me but perhaps best to let her mum know asap if you aren't wanting to loan to her though otherwise there might be tears before bedtime!
 
oopss that is pretty cheeky but she may just be young and extremelly excited about it , doesnt mean she wont give said horse a fab home
 
i no guys, but mum is ment to be horsie so having to post questions on a forum about plaiting is worrying! and using my pictures is just cheeky, shes coming to havk out nxt week so havnt discounted them. i just dont want to make the wrong move!
 
Yeah but her mum didnt post she did - probably without telling her mum. I wouldnt worry about i think shes overly excited and now that the post has been removed she's probably learned her lesson.
 
Urrm with regard to her saying she is 'getting' said horse maybe she is just assuming that you will sell to her. I guess many sellers just want to sell the horse and may not be that worried about who they sell to, so perhaps she assumes you will sell.

Using your horse's picture in her signature is totally wrong and I would be totally fuming if someone did that to me.

If she's asking about potentially what she might do with his mane then again I think that is her getting overly and prematurely enthusiastic.

Like I said, the picture in the sig would be teh one that would really bother me.
 
its 6 months loan with a poss buy at the end of it. i have asked her mum to get her to remove the picture, and have now messaged her and asked very nicley that she removes it, i have also suggested she writes down a list of questions for me next weekend and that she googles lipizzaners as they are not a normal english breed?!!!

I think you are doing the right thing by speaking to them straight away about your concerns and asking them to take the picture down.
 
i hope i havnt upset the mum as they could be a family home for life for him... this loaning/selling thing is just way to much stress! no affence to anyone but especially when kiddies are concerned!
 
Considering she is still only a child/teenager, i think you are totally over reacting, poor kid is probably just living a dream, dont be so harsh, and look at it from her point of view, im sure she would give him a nice home, sorry dont like your attitude.

i relise the girl is young hence why i called and spoke to her mum!! but the fact mum hasnt done a thing is slighty annoying! my attitde is to the care of my muched loved and very valuable horse. and the other person on the said forum that is due to come and view the horse, as i explained to the girls mum it wasnt fair for her to read such a thing.
 
Funnily enough, I would have looked at it completely differently to you and been absolutely thrilled that someone was so desperate to have my horse! If I loaned a horse I would really want the loanee to be excited and it sounds like this is what happened. Having not seen the post, I have no idea what was said, but from what you mentioned so far, if they seemed an ideal family, then I would not be at all put off by the picture in the sig or asking about plaiting. It was probably an excuse for her to post a pic of your horse. She may not have understood that if they wanted the horse, it was still up to you to decide who you would prefer the horse to go to.

I am not sure you are really ready to hand over your horse to someone else!
 
im ready to let him go but am being paticualr about the new home, hence why i want the jumping hacking out ect all done, i also step back and let everyone that has viewed so far get on with it right up to turning him back out,

i still think they are possibly the best home so far, as all really nice (dad had come to just look before daughter and mum came) theres no issue of money and hed be kept at a riding school so alway advice and more experianced people around.

i am still a little concerned about her using the pic as i have said before someone else that uses the forum is due to come and try him, and i really wouldnt want to upset her. it is not the kids fault, i agree she a nice kid and a good little rider, but i do think mum should of done something after i called!

yes she may read it but thats life.

I would be pleased she'd asked advice about something if she wasn't sure (i.e. plaiting) rather than just going ahead and doing it. She was probably just really excited but it's hard letting go of any horse so can see why you're being critical

do you really want to sell this horse? Lets be honest, if its a loan then fair enough you are justified in your concerns, however if you really do want to sell a horse then ultimately they could do all to your liking until purchase and do what they like afterwards...

If you want to sell horse then you really need to find the right home but be prepared for that home to be slightly different from your current care etc.
 
I would be annoyed - very. It smacks of a lack of respect. Her mum should have grovelled! It might even put me off letting them have the horse.
