Bit of background - a new yard has been built at my house (which we rent) and the first 2 horses arrived on Saturday. I have had a round pen put in my horse's field but was told by the trainer that it just needed to be put somewhere and not to worry because he wasn't going to use my field.
I got home yesterday morning from getting the papers to see 2 men in my field with a horse in the pen and my horse getting quite revved up outside the pen. I wouldn't have minded had someone just knocked on the door and said "we are going to turn this horse out. Do you mind? is your horse going to be ok if we are in his field etc" so I could have got him in or seperated the field. As it was I lost my temper and got very cross with said person and was made even more angry by the fact he didn't say sorry but just got huffy about it.
I was furious so went off on a ride which cheered me up no end because my ex racehorse was being fab and then bloke apologised this morning and said he was sorry and he didn't think. I just don't like the thought of other people in my horse's field esp as he got kicked the second day I had him and it took a while to get him back on track after that.
I have now seperated the field so that the pen is far away from my horse but he is an escapalogist so won't stay where he is supposed to for long!!
Did I overreact or would anyone else get cross about it? I think its just common sense really. Imagine if this bloke's racehorse had got kicked and broken its leg? Am calm now because bloke has apologised but was very steamy last night!!!!!!!
