you had to temporarily move your horse from small, private yard to livery as you had broken your ankle and were unable to look after him and despite having been at current yars for years and paying a retainer all of your stuff is moved and dumped in a corner without your knowledge or consent and your saddle rack is given away and feedbins are moved to allegedly provide space for a new horse? A horse sadly had to be pts at the stables in december and all his stuff is still where it was left (including saddle) and my horse has only been gone a week and is coming back?

ETA - the moving and dumping of stuff is at current, private yard. Didn't make that very clear!

Am i overreacting in that i feel i have been 'ousted' for no reason? Especially as i'm still paying!
 
If you are still paying your stuff should be left exactly where it was. They have no right to move anything as you are still a paying customer. Demand it is put back.
 
Yes i'm still paying! Horse wont be back there for another 6 weeks or so but i'm still paying full summer rate to retain my stable. The more i think about it the more i am quite hurt by it

I would be livid, if you are still paying then it is imaterial wether or not your horse is still there.

Hey MrsM, yes have tried to contact them but got short thrift. Said they 'didnt know when my horse would be back so cleared my space for a new horse'! Its a broken ankle! I said he would have to move for the duration i am in cast as cannot drive etc. Have no idea why my stuff had to be moved, especially as the other stuff has been lying there since last year and hasnt been an issue.
I'm starting to think its a not so subtle way of telling me not to come back? Genuinely have no idea why though!

I'd be hurt and very angry too. Bottom line is if you've paid for your space there still you've paid for your space. So it should be left as was.

That's not nice.
 
I would be fuming and getting somebody to take me up the yard to put it all back where it was. They had NO RIGHT to move your stuff!

Yes, I'd be very angry! I had a similar situation many years ago, and when I returned to my livery yard, all my rubber matting had been shared out between the others!! I was only about 15 at the time, so I think I let it go - I don't remember having the matting back at any rate! If that happened now though, heads would roll!

So yes, put your (good) foot down!
 
Let me get this right - you are paying a retainer, yet they are using the stable for another horse? The stable is for your use, whether you have a horse, goat or mouse in there if you are renting it! I'm really annoyed for you! You need to speak to them, they are bang out of order.

Thanks all - good to know i'm not overreacting! tbh i dont even mind too much if my stable gets used, its having my tack, feed bins, pessoa, boots, supplements etc taken away from my storage area and dumped in a corner so that someone else could use my 'spot' that really annoyed me!!

Hmm, seems very odd espically considering how much storage space there is at your yard. I would have thought that there would have been plenty of room for new horses stuff without having to move any of your stuff. If room did need to be made it would surely have made more sense to move poor L's stuff. Very strange indeed.

I would be god damn fuming and would be getting a lift up there asap and have a face to face so that they could not avoid you, and have to answer your questions, the phone is too easy for people to avoid your questions.
Get up there and just sort it before your syuff starts to go missing
 
Go up and ask YO why when you have paid for the stable another horse was put in it. Never mind they needed it ask about why not move the other horses stuff. And last but not least you want your rent back as they have obviously charged someone else for the stable as well. I do not think I would go back with my horse and I would go and take saddle rack and everthing else back (I would search others things as obviously someone has searched yours. Move your horse permanently.

but I wouldn't go off on one with your YO or the people down there, sometimes people just don't think and it could only cause more agro if you get yourself worked up about it with them while your not there, but yes if your paying then nobody should of had their mitts on any of your possessions, get them told and move your stuff back to where it was originally.
