Would you be suspicious of a horse advertised at a bargain price?

As a buyer of a new horse last year, I looked at at least 25 horses and enquired after many more. I can guarantee that those who came up with excuses about photos or videos were the ones that were total wasted journeys.

People would lie blatantly on the phone ("yes, he's got good legs and feet") ("yes, he's full up 16hh), I would drive for hours to see something with turned in feet or standing 15.1.

So if the seller is not keen about sending photos or a video (maybe excuse the latter if an older seller, some people not great on the computer) then there will be a reason!!

Regarding the price, I sold a sweet itch horse, 4yo unbacked, for £2k, half of what I would have charged without sweet itch, cos it will put some people off straightaway.
Good luck!

Having bought Beau at a bargin price ($1,000 AUD) and since seen 1/2 brothers and sisters (same sire diff mares none of them particulalrly special) for sale for $6,000 to $30,000(!!) no I wouldn't be suspicious. The only real difference between Beau and the others being that they weren't skeletons and were green broken but of the same age(4). We drove 2hrs, on a 5 line text add no pics and bought him out of the field. No 'major' issues since.

I agree that for a 6hr drive I would expect the seller to give you a bit more info before you drive that far. Has she said why she is selling? As other have said I would expect sweet itch to knock a bit off the price depending on severity. If you follow it up further let us know I'd be interested in seeing a pic (if only becasue I like duns!)
