I'd find it odd that no one replied (even with a thumbs up) or called to check you and horse were ok and didn't need any help.

Upset? No. It's a bit odd that nobody thought to check and see where you were (I presume your absence will have affected the team score?), but people have their own stuff to do.

I do appreciate the work that goes into running competitions, it was not the show officials i was upset about not hearing from, rather my fellow club/team members just thinking i hadn't turned up.

That's a team you don't want to be a member of !
