Would you buy a 13yr old horse?

Well, I bought a 21 year old last year so 13 sounds young to me! He had no health problems whatsoever, and no one could believe he was really 21! My friend took him out galloping across the fields and he loved it.

It wouldn't worry me at all, and you'll be able to get him insured as normal, although when he gets to 17+ it might be a bit more difficult to insure against illness (although I think if you keep him insured with the same company from when you get him some companies provide illness cover up to the age of 20).

I like the look of him

I would have absolutely no qualms about buying a horse of that age - it isn't even old by todays standards.

Insurance will not be a problem as long as he has no pre-existing problems, but then that would apply to any horse regardless of age.

He's an absolute stunner btw!
