Would you buy a horse that does not jump and doesn't travel well?

Yes. I don't travel anywhere and don't enjoy jumping so wouldn't bother me at all loads of people just want a nice safe hacking horse- worth it's weight in gold to the right person just be honest about the issues

I don't think it would be a problem for someone who just wants to hack about! I mean I don't jump my 27yr old mare anymore and havent really for a good 5yrs and the only time I have travelled her is to move from yard to yard, so for me I don't think it would be a biggy. however I do plan on doing more with my baby, hunting and xcoutry but if its a 2nd horse I don't see why it would be a problem!

also my friend would have something like that if it was a confidence giver, so she could teach her boyfriend to ride! and have something quiet to hack out with to give confidence to her young mare! but obviously it would have to be pretty cheap!

Thanks for all of your replies.

I also would not knowingly buy something that didn't jump or load.

However I did sell my previous pony 3 years ago as a non-loader (in trailers, wasn't too bad in a lorry) and non-jumper (masses of capability but too unpredicatable and got herself too wound up).

Unfortunately, she has found her way to a home that was not informed of her loading difficulties.

She can also be a little bit of a mare and I am concerned that the lady may need to sell her as she cannot ride at the moment, but might not be able to find a home for her due to her loading/jumping issues.

I am not sure why I am even getting involved, but I guess you always feel a bit of a sentimental tie to your first horse? (I had her for 2.5 years)

She is a 14.2 sec D x TB, 11yo (I think), beautiful paces, but needs a strong competent rider as can take the mick at times.

I am just worried that she will go to a trader who might sell her on again without people knowing what her problems are. All I ever wanted was a nice home for her!

Totally depends what the rider/owner has planned.

Not a definate no if just hacking and flatwork was planned and only the occasional trip in a Lorry. Yes it would limit the resale market but again it was depends it owner planned to keep for life or possibly sell on.

It could easily work for some but not others.

Yes I would consider, am looking now and the jumping wouldn't put me off as I stopped jumping in my early twenties. My only concern would be if I had to transfer to horsepital in an emergency and could not load, I would certainly expect a price to reflect the horses issues

I bought one! Though it would depend on the reasons why if I were to again. Mine had never been taught to jump and has a cracking one on her as it turns out. She did travel to us under sedation and have had no need to travel again as where we are has local shows. However we're moving her next week, but expecting her to be better than when she was delivered as she's a lot more calm and confident now.
If the horse was unpredictable or couldn't jump for medical reasons then no. I like jumping too much!
