would you buy a horse that has been pin fired?

Hi

I have a horse on loan with a view to buy but found out today that he has been pin fired

He is 12 years old..i only want to do small local shows little bit of cross country and sponsored rides

Would you buy him ??

I have previously bought one line fired horse and one pin fired horse. Both were absolutley brilliant. Only prob was that it didn't look very nice in summer but with a winter coat couldn't be seen. Only thing you wouldn't be able to do is show, but if the horse is everything you want and has passed the vetting then yes without hesitation. Good luck xx
 
Yes, I've had 2 that have beenpin fired with no problems. I wish they didnt insist on doing it but it wouldnt put me off a nice horse
 
I would, one of my TB's in pin fired and it has never caused him any problems. He is now retired due to artiritis but not on the legs that are fired.
 
Hi, my boy has been pin fired and I have no problems with him. I believe pin firing is not only carried out post injury but is also practised to prevent injury (in some peoples opinions). Racehorses in Ireland are pin fired for this reason.
