Would you buy a horse that windsucks/cribs??

Only if it ticked every single box and I wouldn't find another like it in the price bracket I had.

That's not likely though, although I'd have a wind sucker before a weaver.

i wouldnt buy one that is known to crib/windsuck....my mare started to windsuck after she had been with me for about 6 months. i thought it was something i was doing wrong and felt really bad about it.this carried on for approx 8 years....however she was diagnosed with cushings in 2011 and once the tablets kicked in she stopped. her management hadnt changed and i think in her case it was a symptom of her cushings. she started again, i got her bloods tested, increased the tablets and voila!!!! no more windsucking...i am pretty sure cushings is the reason she started.....

Dylan cribbed throughout the time I had him. I didn't know about it when I bought him but it wouldn't have put me off. He was stabled on a large livery yard and it never caused any issues. He wore a tiny groove in the top of his stable door and that was all the damage he did, and we never had any issues with his teeth or anything. He was 15 when he was PTS and had been in the same stable for almost 8 years.

It wouldn't put me off - especially now, as our horses are kept at home. The only time a stable vice has put me off buying a horse was one I viewed which weaved horrendously.

I worked as a groom where a horse was crib biter and wind sucker. He used to chew/bite the top of any fence posts and literally lift them out of the ground plus the horrible noise as he wind sucked

Not again in all honesty no.
I have one already, had him years. Have never been able to find a space on a proper yard (as opposed to private field renting) for him as I tell the truth on visiting as no point in falling out with people after moving in!
I find over the years I've worried a lot about him and found it sometimes quite stressful!
If he did anything out of the ordinary I'd convince myself he had ulcers (in fact treated him properly for them with no difference) now he's retired i see him wind sucking and other horses stood half asleep so I still worry he's bored or stressed or miserable!
Then there's the damage to fencing etc. I just don't think I'd personally want another. Non wind sucking horses seem so much happier to me
