Would you buy a horse with/recovering from horse flu?

More to the point, what sort of person would sell a horse while it had/was recovering from horse flu?
No, I would not.

No. I would only consider buying several weeks afterwards when the vet had given it the all clear, it was back to full fitness and full work and not infectious to anything else.

I would consider it if I had prior knowledge of the horse and you know how the horse performs and what its temperament is like. An ill horse could seem calm and kind nbut be very much more 'on its toes' when fit and healthy. I suppose it depends on what you are after and how much you trust the vendors. The sensible thing would be to express your interest but hold on the final decision until the horse is in full health.

Background: we bought a horse from a dealer which was advertised as 'no trouble in any way' but has turned out to be a total psycho, have been offered a swop - but this horse has a 'cold' and is in isolation. We have not seen said horse yet.

would as for money back and go somewhere else! if they lied about the first horse they could be lying about the 'cold' and it may be more sinister like strangles.my horse had a cold and wasnt kept in isolation, most of the other horses where out and was a small yard, the vet confirmed it was just a cold
