Would you buy a horsebox off Ebay?

I have, it cost me £1K, was cheap to keep getting through it's tests, very reliable up until I decided to sell it and I had it for about 3 years. Ah and when I sold it I got £860 for it!

Ebay should be no riskier than anywhere else provided you go and look at the vehicle, with a mechanic, before you bid. If the seller won't show you the lorry then you don't bid. Simples.

I would as long as we could go have a damn good look at it and check all the paperwork is in order beforehand.

We got our Landy off ebay if that's any help though his description was "lacking", the price more than offset the rust.

There is nothing wrong with buying it off ebay, but look at it first. I bought one, and drove 3 hours to collect it. It was absolutely not as described and was really "hanging". I got back in the car and went home without it. The photos looked good, but the reality was quite different.

We bought both of our horse lorries off ebay, got a good bargain too! As long as you view it before you put a bid on it. We travelled to Leeds (from Lincs) to view the purple monster, loved it, handed over the money and took it home, seller took the listing off ebay, saved her the fees...
