Would you buy a one eyed pony?

Wouldn't bother me, have known a few and they seem to adapt very well. :)

Will you have the eye removed, or is it not bothering him?

Wouldn't bother me! My friend bought a 1 eyed pony for his son and the pony is fab. All the other PC mums were giving out and saying they wouldn't buy a pony with a missing eye because it was dangerous...when I asked them to explain to me why none of them could come up with a plausible reason....

Definitely. I saw a stunning horse with one eye and it actually made me like him more!
I'm a bit weird like that though. The first thing I wondered was "Does he still blink" and stood there until he did. Was strange but weirdly awesome at the same time.

Well, my neighbour(RIP), had a mare that lost an eye, jumping through a ditch, trying to avoid being caught. Briar caught her in the eye andshe lost the sight, she was only four at the time and had very little done, but went on to hunt, hack out, little bit of sj, and bred 5 lovely foals before she died last year, so it's a def yes from me!!! And she wasn't in the least bit spooky after it. (Actually, very easy to sneak up on her to catch her after that!!!!) she was always a bugger to be caught!!!

Cracking pony. :) Hope all continues to go well.:)

Re Connies, I went away and thought about it myself and realised I consider 14.2 Connies to be for small adults yet 14.2 NF for bigger children. That is probably a really unfair preconception/misconception on my part but hey ho!:)

Years ago my friend had a one eye'd mare near side, she used to win jumping comps all the time with her, hunted, hacked she was fine, if you were riding her you just had to watch how close she got to the pavement

A friend had a one eyed horse (had it taken out after an accident), it was a brilliant show jumping pony in its time - never seemed to cause any problems. I think she rode it keeping in mind it couldnt see out of one side so would turn its head etc. in a way it could see the jumps. But it certainly didnt stop it competing successfully, think she XC'd it a few times too,
