Would you buy...

If you can afford to do it and can cope with the potential heartbreak then go for it. If no one else will give him a chance then you could.

Its sad that so many people have already written him off, I can understand that not everyone can afford it but as I say if you can then you should if you want to.

Have you got any full body pics of him??

Yes I can understand where you are coming from in saying you would give this horse a chance but my moral issue was not with that statement but with regards to potters and the two words 'meat money.
My moral concern and conscience would find it diabolical to consider taking on what is essentially a free horse ( as in no payment to change hands for the said animal) and for that FREE animal to be used to raise hard cash in selling for meat money'.
If the animal did need to be destroyed on welfare and/or soundness grounds then the responsibility should lie with the current owner. I would find it totally immoral for the horse to be taken on by someone who would view it as free, easy cash to be made.
If I have got the wrong end of the stick here then forgive me but words like there is always' Potters meat money' does not in my view imply I was wrong in my way of thinking.

Unfortunatly I am more than aware of the issues around managing laminitic ponies. I don't think that I will be taking the horse on or advising a friend to simply because I feel that the horse has been very poorly managed since this problem, so any damage which is done has not been particularly well treated and would be a much longer route to full health than I would want, or am in a position to provide.

I can't post a picture of the entire pony- it is not mine and is particularly distinctive; I wouldn't like to offend anyone who happened to see it.

The owner is 'getting rid' now as cannot cope- they are scared of horses anyway and are completely unequipped for dealing with lami. I actually suspect that it will be at a dealers/ sale by the end of the weekend.

It may well be the case that the poor animal (and its companions in worse states) would have been better off pts as the severity of the attack became apparent, but I was not aware of the problem then.

No - but it would be more to do with the confirmation of the foot, pastern, and front leg generally tbh. that would put me off.
