Very fed up at both work and horse yard at the mo.... I only work to pay to keep horses but at the yard we have almost nowhere currently to ride. All the fields have horses in them so our usual hacking track has gone and the school is out of action and probably will be for some considerable time. I am stretched beyond belief at work and am working 12 hour days, so I really need to be able to get to the yard, tack up and ride, not to have to box off to the forest.

Hubby tells me the two are not connected... i am just getting more and more depressed and wonder what on earth the point is in keeping 3 horses (2 in work horses and the youngster) if I cant ride them.
On the positives the field mine have is fab, the stables are fab, the hay and straw is fab and the people are fab (well apart from the ejit family that has just invaded us) so is it just me being a moaning old git for the sake of it?

advice or a kick up the you know please

I can understand that the lack of facilities is getting you down when you want to go and ride to release the frustrations of the day:(

If everything else about the yard - eejit family apart - is good I wouldn't be in a hurry to change that. Can you speak to theYO and get some reassurance that the school will be back in use for the winter as that would be my concern having somewhere to ride then.

I think yur frustration with your job is becoming all pervading - I saw your other post about applying for other jobs - maybe you need a fresh pair of eyes on your CV/contact some new agencies to see if they can help etc etc I am not sure where in the country you are or what your field of work is - maybe there are people on here that can give you some ideas of people/agenices to speak to you haven't thought of?:)

I would sort the work out first:)

Cheers Slinky - thats what hubby keeps telling me to do, but you know how it is you dont always listen to the ones that you see everyday. I have tired a couple of new agencies, but have to wait another 3 weeks before I can get a day off work, as we are so short staffed and you cant have holiday when someone else is away - its been like that for the last month as well, and I have been having to work Saturdays to catch up with my own job.

So I feel so flustrated at not being out there getting my name out and about - I dont even have the guts to phone in sick, as if I did this once I dont think I would ever go back!

:)

If it is that bad and affecting you so much can you afford to leave and then concentrate on getting yourself a new job?:)

It may be a better solution than being trapped in the viscious circle you appear to be in right now and would have time to blitz the agencies and interview as and when they came up? I am sure it would also ut you in a better frame of mind for interviews so you would come across more positive etc when you are there rather then stressed and harrassed :)
