Probably not tbh... unless it was cheap enough to take a chance. Good rugs are so reasonably priced these days there is no need to buy unbranded stuff imo.
If the spec is the same the chances are it was made in the same factory in China or wherever so no problem with buying one. I used to run a tack shop with my now ex and you'd be surprised which rugs are made where and how some brands are exactly the same rug with another a different name.
yeah, I buy all my rugs, indoor and outdoor, from a well known auction site (!) and they are no different. Whats the point in paying huge amounts for a rug? They all end up in the same stste anyway, and as laafet said often they are made in the same factory using the same materials anyway. Maybe I'm just stingy....
I'm with laafet on this one - I too used to have a tack business and it's possible to buy rugs that are very similar in spec to top brands for half the price!
I might but you don't know if it will come up right size and shape and its just hassle to send stuff back so i tend to stick to the same rugs most of the time.
I bought one once, it was only a m/w turnout but it did a pretty good job and fitted better than some branded ones I've bought in the past. So I would buy one again, though maybe not a h/w middle of winter rug!
i probably wouldn't but thats cause i don't have much money to spend on something that i'm not sure is gonna last the winter or not.
plus my filly will be living out so i need to know she's gonna be warm and dry.
so i go with a make i know.
i'd rather spend the extra £20 quid or whatever than have to go out and buy that rug in the end anyway.
You have proved a point in the whole 'made in china' as I suppose it is the same as buying a t-shirt from Primark or Next or M&S.Generally the same t-shirt but with a different label and twice the price. I'm not as fussy with clothes though.
I am with Kao though, and think I would rather spend more money on what I know than end up having to buy twice.
Surely though, we all pretty much know what makes of rug fit and what dont. I know on mine that Horseware fit great, Masta are to big at the front, Weatherbeeta are a little big but I can get away with it etc etc etc. It's not that I dont want to save money but how do you know what you are buying and how they are going to fit and it's not like you can see it and feel it and check it over if it's on the net. I know I sound a bit strange going on about this but OH has been seriously on my case about my spending habits!
ive just baught a heavy winter turnout with a neck cover for one my tb x, it cost 30 quid brand new plus post and pack-and all i have to say is that it is the best 30 quid i have ever spent-lovely fit, looks nicely made, well padded, secure straps. have had it for 2 weeks so will see how long it lasts but honestly, you wouldnt tell the difference if they had just stuck a masta logo on it!!!
